The new coffee is here!

As announced at the last regular meeting in the Spring, AAS has switched coffee brands. It was brought to the Board's attention that the brand we had been selling was not certified Bird Friendly by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC), the only certification that guarantees that your coffee is 100% shade-grown, bird friendly. After we did some research and tasted samples from 2 SMBC certified roasters, the coffee committee selected Birds & Beans® coffees. I've been brewing these coffees at home for the past 2 weeks and they are fantastic! Our first order has arrived and will be available for sale at the September meeting. Offerings include 12 oz bags of Wood Thrush, a light roast; American Redstart, a breakfast blend; Chestnut-sided Warbler, a medium roast; Scarlet Tanager, a dark roast; and Baltimore Oriole, a water processed decaf. All flavors will be available in either ground or whole beans.  Birds & Beans Coffee is SMBC certified Shade Grown, 100% Organic and Fair Trade or Direct Trade, meaning that every bean in every bag was raised sustainably and ethically, and it is 100% delicious! Priced at $10 a bag, Birds & Beans is a great cup of coffee you can feel good about drinking,

Early bird discount! Pre-order your new Birds & Beans coffee before the September meeting and program and receive a $.50 discount! To pre-order, please email me at Be sure to include the flavor and quantity you wish to order, and indicate if you want ground or whole beans.
